I went for a city tour w/ my fellow rotaractors today..

Our first stop was House of Sampoerna, and just realized that the founder's and his wife surname, both are my surname.. how come? story? long story, but it was from my grandpa..

The growling tummies wanted to be filled up.. the next destination was just about 3 minutes walk... the lontong balap sampoerna, lontong balap cak pri.. which is very very delicious...

After filled up our tummies, we paid a visit to a temple (dunno which klenteng) at chocolate street (Mbah said Jl. Coklat, I'm not sure how to write it correctly so i said choco street), and saw people throwing coins with the rice and green bean... yeap.. it's Cap Go Meh.. Mbah talked to the "uncle" there and going home with lots of books about Buddha and Buddhist? (6 books if I'm not mistaken and I'm not really sure what books those are)...

The very next thing we did was wondering around at Kampung Arab Ampel... we sipped tauwa and tasted the maryam curry (gulai maryam).. it's so yummy!! even mbak Ika who doesn't like lamb (the meat) said it was delicious and tasted differently from the others she had ever eaten before...

We decided to end our journey sweetly.. We headed to Zangrandi, just to found it closed that day... (and mbak Ika said, "setauku Zangrandi itu tutupnya Selasa, ini kan Rabu to" after she thought it was Sunday earlier... LOLz - duh, mbak.. why don't you tell us earlier.. and it is Tues, not Sun nor Wed)...

Finally we ended our journey w/ eating pempek at Pempek Sriwijaya at... oh, I'm so good at memorizing the name of the street.. >.> well.. it's near the kembang jepun, somewhere behind the Santika Hotel.

what a day.. it was truly a priceless experience.. thanks to mb' Ika, Mbah, and Bram for the excitement I got! ^^

I paint my nails bronze, but it looks more like a sparkling orange one.. lol
maybe i should do a double layer instead?

Surabaya - Makanan dengan bahan dasar daging merah adalah salah satu jenis makanan favorit saya. Setelah lebih dari 3 bulan tidak makan sate kambing, akhirnya makan malam kali ini saya bisa menikmati daging kambing muda bakar dengan saus kacang. *napsu* Buat lebih memudahkan ilustrasi, ini gambarnya sy share di bawah ini…

Singkat cerita, sewaktu pulang kantor saya nyeletuk “Sate Kambing!” di tengah jalan. Berhubung di mobil tinggal bertiga, Cik Kiem, Pak Nyoto (yg menyetir,) dan saya sendiri, dan karena kami semua ini doyan makan, jadi mampirlah (red: de-tour) kami di Perak khusus untuk menikmati sate kambing.

Kami mampir di warung kaki lima. Sayang sekali saya lupa nama warungnya. Yang jelas ada kata-katsa sate ayam pak W__ (W siapanya yg ga inget.) Setelah menunggu beberapa menit, akhirnya sate siap disantap…

Daging kambing muda yang dibakar ini empuk, tidak alot, dan teksturnya lembut. Bumbu kacangnya enak (sayang kurang banyak.) Hanya saja, untuk rasanya, sate ini tidak dibumbui apa-apa (kecuali dilengkapi oleh saus kacang.) Memang sate kambing Madura itu berbeda dengan sate kambing Jawa. Karena saya yang notabene lahir dan besar di Jogja ini suka makan makanan yang (agak) manis, maka saya lebih memilih sate kambing Jawa yang paling tidak dibumbui kecap ketika dibakar dan dibubuhi merica ketika dihidangkan. Adapun sate kambing Jawa biasanya dilengkapi dengan irisan kubis dan tomat sebagai pelengkap (tidak lupa dengan rajangan bawang merah dan cabe rawitnya.)

Soal harga, sate ini dihargai 2.400 rupiah per tusuknya. Murah? Mahal? Well, itu relatif. Terserah bagaimana Anda menilainya.

Ini foto sepiring sate yang saya makan tadi (minus satu tusuk yang sudah saya makan duluan.) Kalau foto di atas itu sudah ditambah dengan foto sate kepunyaan Pak Nyoto yang saya pinjam untuk difoto.

Sudah jelas saya akan tidur dengan pulas malam ini. :)

Today’s lunch: Chisa’s Japanese style fusion hamburger.

consist of:

• boiled carrot
• sautéed A. polytricha (tree-ear)
• sautéed green paprika (bell pepper)
  
• sunny side egg – 1/2 done
• long grain white rice
• hambaagaa sauce (consist of onion, scalion, beef stock, pepper, sugar, garlic, tomato, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and salt)
• hamburger (minced beef, sauteed onion and scalion, shiitake, garlic, salt, white egg, green chili -Capsicum annuum-, and Royco chicken cream soup –coz i don’t have milk/yoghurt and breadcrumbs-)

I’m not gonna write how to make it step by step. You could easily find the recipe out there. This dish is pretty (or maybe even very) popular.

I’m so bad that after weeks neglecting this blog, I’m coming back with saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad news,,, I’m bloated. Yeap, gastritis, or gastroentritis, or whatever it named is striking back.

But it’s not that sad anyway. I cooked a bowl of soup to soothe my upset stomach.

It might look greasy, but it’s not that greasy. It’s just like Campbell’s chicken and rice, but instead of using diced chicken, i was using minced pork. It tasted good anyway. lol. I’m sharing the recipe here.

Ingredients:

• onion – minced
• garlic – minced
• shallot leaves - minced
• green tomatoes – diced
• shiitake – diced
• carrot – diced
• minced pork
• rice – cooked
• condensed beef broth
• oyster sauce, fish sauce, pepper
• vegetables oil

Cooking Steps:

1. Sautéed the onion on the pan with vegetables oil (i use a saucepan) until just about to turn brown.
2. Add the minced shallot leaves and stir them until onion is turn golden brown.
3. Add the other ingredients ( garlic, pork, tomatoes, shiitake, and carrot) and stir it until the pork turns color. By that time you gonna have a caramelized onion.
4. Add some condensed beef broth, oyster sauce, pepper, and fish sauce, then stir it again.
5. Heat it up then pour some water on it. Let it simmer for a moment and keep stir it occasionally.
6. Finally add some rice inside, stir it occasionally until simmer.
7. Taste it! Serve and enjoy it when you done with the tasting session. :D

I didn’t put the exact amount of the ingredients I used here. Just use your feeling. Feel free to add anything. Cooking is not about textbook. It’s about mixing ingredients to create something wonderful. So just enjoy it. :D

My soup has a rich flavor. I just love the taste of caramelized onion mixed with beef broth! And the great thing is it did help soothe my tummy.

even it’s hurt again now.. huahaha… i need more soup!!!

P.S. I heard that onion may cause gas just like cabbage, broccoli, milk, and softdrink do. Also, PMS, excessive sodium (salt,) sodas, too much alcohol, too little protein in diet, and contraceptive pills are some of the most common causes of chronic stomach bloating. >.<

Where were we? Oh, sampe surprising my mom n dad.
Sabtu pagi katanya abis dr Borobudur Mike mau jemput. Sampe jam 4 sore kaga dijemput, baru d dikabarin klo ternyata udah ga keburu. Yasud, ane ikutan bonyok n adik2 makan aj..

Malemnya aku nemenin papi mami, ketemu ma dokter2 dr Penang n their marketing staff. Total klo ga salah ada 8 org. Malem itu akhirnya diputusin makan di tio tjiu jln jend. Sudirman, deket Hotel Santika Premiere. Ternyata mreka smua kelaparan... gara2 presentasi di Golden Campus sampe jam 9 lebih. Karena ga mungkin aku cuma nonton mreka makan, akhirnya aku ikutan makan.

Sebelumnya, aku dah gatel pengen pesen bir.. but i thought it was unsuitable since I'm dining w/ bunch of doctors.. especially when I heard 1 of them is very picky on what he eats. Pucuk dicinta ulam pun tiba, salah satu dokter, yg kebetulan duduknya di sebelahku, pesen bintang dingin sebotol... Langsung deh aku minta gelas extra, trus blg ke dokter ini.. would you mind to share the beer? And he said sure... he took my glass and gently pour the beer inside my glass. Akhirnya 2 dokter yg lain juga ikutan minum. Order lagi d... Dokter yg 1 lagi, ngga minum beer, tp ordernya coca cola.. padahal dy ahli gastro.. brti gpp y minum coca cola?? lol... Yg bikin heran sih ada tmn bokap yg ikut anter dlm rombongan surprised n g percaya klo aku minum... yeaaaaa... she might just amazed... nanyanya ampe.. "yg boneng kmu minum? ga mabuk? blablablaaaaa..."

Sorry klo kekny dokternya ane monopoli, bukan kamsud.. tp karena posisi duduknya yg mendukung. karena aku+ dokter2 ntu dudukny di tengah. dokter bedah jantung, ginekolog, me, sebrangku si dokter gastro, trus sebelahnya (depan ginekolog) dokter 1 lg,, ntah ahli apa.. + karena mungkin mreka lebih enjoy speak in english rather than in melayu y... + si ginekolog kan banyak tanya ke ane.. y jadi ane tanya2 balik aj.. XD

Minggu jam 9 pagi, aku ke bandara, w/ mom n dad... just for nganterin koper2 the doctors and their marketing team. Penuh dah 3 trolly buat barang mereka. Stela mreka masuk ke dalem u/ check-in, mom-dad-n-me mampir di Sop Ayam Pak Min Janti, trus brenti di Ambarukmo Plaza, beliin aku olive netbooknya smart. Biar aku diem katanya. Soalnya aku gmw bawa laptopku, maunya bawa mobil dr rumah. Yah, gr2 g ad kendaraan skr saya jd ank kamar kos. Parah dah.. (smua org bilang.. sepeda is not recommended, sepeda motor ga boleh, mobil ktny aku blm apa jalan,, trus?? aku dsuruh ngapain?)

Sampe di rumah aku lgs packing. Jam 3an udah brangkat lg ke airport u/ nae flight Batavia Jog-Sub jam 16:50.. Check in dapet kursi 7E (nantinya dapet 7F, tukeran sama bapak2 yg ternyata kerja u/ Angkasapura Mataram.) Sampe jam 4 lebih 30 menit, ETDny jg belum ada, gila bener, udah pasti delay ni pesawat. Akhirnya beneran didelay sampe jam 6:15.

Di waiting room, seperti biasa aku pasti maen ke Periplus. Akhirnya tergoda u/ beli Queen of Babble series ny Meg Cabot yg didiskon. Kartu Periplusku belum mati.. tp dalam 1 bulan ini aku mesti kumpulin poin/belanja senilai kurang lebih 600rb.. lhaaaaa.... mesti beli apa ne. Periplusnya sby (yg d ptc?) aj kecil gitu. Masa kudu ke Periplus Juanda.. Mana gbs dikopi barcode nya.. Padahal kan yg lebih gila belanja di Periplus itu kan si Chiyo. hix..

Enuf abt periplus. Stela mendarat, aku cari taxi. Karena bingung gtw mau nae yg mana (yg ktny pny AL itu seharusnya pas kluar dr pintu kluar lgs ke sbela kiri, tp aku bingung n g yakin karena gtw apa namanya.. lha papi ga kasih tau apa namanya,) yawes akhirnya nae golden bird (gaya banged) dan yaaa... tau lah golden itu bayarnya kek gimana.... tp y emang service nya T.O.P.B.G.T... skali lagi d boros nae golden bird.. kapan ari ma chiyo d jakarta, dikasih camry.. yg maren ini nae mercy C class, kompresor? ntah apa. Pokoknya pas di depan kos diliatin aja dah ma org2. Batinnya ni ank kok klo dianter plg, mobilnya ganti2.. *jgn dianggep ank ga genah ae*
