Funny Sign

I had found so many weird signs, phrases, tags, etc at several places here in China.
*I always want to capture all, yet sometimes i forgot to snap it; or it was back then before i got my camera in the end of aug*

Here is one of the weirdo thing. I captured it about a week ago at Trust Mart (好友多) Dept. Store that located at Guilin Rd.

I'll share more later (got several pics already, but those really need to be edited).

Dumb Luck

I always believe that I'm lucky. Doesn't care if it's a lucky luck, or another dumb luck, one thing for sure, I'm blessed with good fortune.

I just got back from a fast networking meeting held by FC Club at M1NT at Fuzhou Rd with Silva. I met a former Interactor and he offered us to send our CV asap to him. He said he will help us in distributing our CV to several companies here (in SH).

In the lucky draw session, my name card was picked first. It's not the first prize, but still it's a prize. :)
I got a bottle of wine. Red Wine, Merlot, 2007. I will keep it. I said to Silva we will drink it together later, after we get our jobs.

My Pair of Boots

(SH - Oct21st,2009)
Finally I bought a pair of boots! I went to Qipu Clothes Market on this Wed with Silva. Both of us were hunting for a pair of boots. It's Silva's 2nd time to visit Qipu Market and she is not too familiar with it. So, somehow I became the guide.

I like my new pair of boots. I fell in love with these pair at the 1st sight. I found it on the first seller I visited. Yet, Silva also found the one she like too there. We did circling the place, went to each aisle that sell shoes, but we didn't find any other boots as interesting as the first seller had. So, we just came back to the shop that sell the boots we like.

After some stiff bargaining, finally we got the boots we love. 105 for both, 50 for Silva's, 55 for mine. The seller mentioned that mine is more expensive than Silva's. True or not, I'm pretty happy about it.
*I also don't care if it's overpriced because I already bought it. I can't go back to the seller and ask her to return my money.*

Here's the pic~

I guess I will buy another pair... Not this kind, but, for this winter.. I definitely need another pair. :)

Ocean Park's Halloween Bash 2009

Hong Kong, 10/09/09
Ntine and me, accompanied by Denise, went to the Ocean Park's Halloween Bash 2009. Many people visit the park as it's only open at night (special night ticket entry) and only last three days a week on the weekend, started at Sept 18th and will be end at the Halloween Night, Oct 31st. The line for a haunted house was unbelievably long. We lined up for about two hours for entering the "Recycle" haunted house. It's famous for the most scary house. Because I didn't want to waste my time just for line up and there are so many "ghosts" haunted the park that night, we decided to ghost busting. I mean, took some pictures with the "ghosts", as many as we can.
Taking picture inside the houses was prohibited anyway. So, I think 2 haunted houses (we entered the Occult Lab as we don't have to queue) is enough. Afterall, a haunted house is a haunted house. Those were scary in term of shocking, not the scary scary.
Here some of the pictures I took. There are some more, but I think it's too much already. lol

Macau Trip

HK-Macau, 10.08.09
This Macau trip is part of my Hong Kong trip. Ntine, Vera, Mary Chan, and me took the Cotai Jet on the Oct 8th, 2009, at noon, 12:00 o'clock sharp. We reached Macau at 1pm and took the Venetian free shuttle bus to the Venetian. Surely the hotel was huge. The casino also very decent. We played slot games several times. Vera played it first, but then she asked what to do. So, I randomly pressed a button and ended up win 200HKD. Then we played again, but no luck. I don't know how much left, I think it's about 140HKD, because Vera kept the money after all.
Funny thing happened at the casino. Ntine was asked about her idendity, then the guard also asked for mine. I thought the age limit was 21, but it's 18! I'm grateful that at I look at least 5+ years younger than my human age.

After the Venetian, we went to the famous spots at Macau like Leal Senado, Ruínas de S.Paulo, and Monte Fort. We watched the sunset at the Monte Fort. We ate mango shaved ice, macanese popcorn chicken, and meatballs with peanuts? sauce there. Then we catch a bus to Coloane, to eat at the famous Fernando.

We reached back at Hong Kong around 11pm, by Cotai Jet (again). Each of us spent 210HKD on the ferry tickets.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

(Hong Kong, 10/05/2009)
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is located at the Peak. To reach it, we could catch a bus (public buses) or take the Peak Tram. The Peak Tram surely is more convenient as it's consume less time to reach the peak. One thing that I found really annoying to get on the Peak Tram on a holiday is it's really crowded that made me queue like forever. Queue is not a problem for me. The problem is, again, I have to queue with dozens of mainlanders. It was annoying. They are impatient, ignorance, and some were cutting the line. I hate to get squeezed, urged, and pushed. I need a space! (Hell, yea.. 20 inches perimeter puhleeazeee) >.<

In the old days, only the British were allowed to come, visit, and stayed at the Peak. It's a "cooling down" place for the British colonial, as The Peak is the highest point in Hong Kong island. Some locals were allowed to climb up the hill only if they were working for the British (usually they were the carrier who brought things for the British), and like i typed, climb; as walking up, not by the train/tram as the British did.

My fretfulness gone in all of sudden when Ntine and me entered the Museum. It's small, bit pricey, but fun! Nice place for taking pictures. Wacky and goofy poses are welcomed here.

After taking the picture, we enjoyed the night view of Victoria Harbor. We were lucky. The weather was good, it's not foggy at all, so we could get a good view upon Hong Kong.

It's a great place! I haven't try the HK Disneyland, but ppl said it's better to go and spend the day at Ocean Park rather than Disneyland. Also, the admission fee of Ocean Park ($208) is cheaper than the Disneyland ($350).
The Ocean Park owns some Giant Pandas!

Somehow I feel bad about the Panda. Even the official already tell the visitors to keep quiet, many were talked so out loud. Yea, the mainlanders.. >.> i'm totally speechless against them. LOLz
I hope the pandas are not stress just because those some rude mainlanders.

What I ate in Hong Kong - part 2

These are some other Hong Kong delicacies I tried.

I also went to the Modern Toilet Restaurant at Causeway Bay Hong Kong (after a tiresome day at the Ocean Park) for dinner. Imho, the foods are OK. It's not a fine dining; and this extraordinary restaurant is emphasizing on selling experience rather than the foods itself. Everything inside the restaurant are resembling classic modern toilet/bath.

Ntine and me order a kiwi flavored shaved ice. The portion was incredibly huge. We were struggling to eat it up. Another group of for were ordered the same ice, but they couldn't finish it.. not even a half. We finally finished it by sucked up the syrup and set aside the ice on the tray. They put milk pudding on the bottom of the bowl (or children chamber?). If you didn't dig it up, you can't find it for sure!
We spent about 145HKD on the restaurant and get 20% discount on the next visit. Since both of us can't visit HK within two months, we just gave the receipt to Vera. Guess she'll spend her dollar later at that restaurant. :)

Snoopy World and Chow Yun Fat

(HK/10.07.09)
While I was in HK, I went to Snoopy World at New Town Plaza, Sha Tin. I took a lot of pictures, but I could only find some of it.. Guess i need to check it once again.
The Snoopy World itself is really small. It's a complimentary park made by New Town Plaza. Even a if you want to ride a Snoopy boat (in a tiny canal), you have to show any receipt of any purchase you made at New Town Plaza dated on that day to get a free ride. Other than that, you could wondering around in the park. After all, it's a good place to take a rest (sit back and relax) and definitely a great place for photo shooting (at least it works for me).

After the Snoopy World, I planned to meet my friend Vera at the Causeway Bay. But then she called and changed the meeting place to Central. Thanks her for made me and Ntine headed towards Central rather than the Csw Bay. We met Chow Yun Fat at Central Metro Station. It was Ntine who recognized him. She is a big fan of him. She could spot him easily in a busy-chaotic subway station. If I were there alone, surely I can't tell that Chow Yun Fat is Chow Yun Fat. He dressed down and very down to earth. I felt lucky that I could meet him in person, even just for less than a minute. lol

see? my pic was kinda blurry. Ntine is his big fan, she admitted she was nervous and so beyond ecstatic so that she was a bit trembling. That's why my picture is not so clear.

What I ate in Hong Kong - part 1
