Blessing in Disguise

Another blessing in disguise situation was happened to me.
Yesterday, I went to HuaQiao Foundation (Asionics Building, 6 Lane 1279, Zhong Shan Xi Road Shanghai 200051, China). I went there by taking the 224 bus and get down in the West Terminal (or something sounds like that) then walk for about 5 minutes. I was using the metro/bus card to pay, but then I didn't put it back to my wallet as I always do. So, yea, I lost it. It might be slipped out when i managed to stuffed it into my jeans pocket, or my ba, or even my wallet/bag when I was walking... or I forgot where I put it, somewhere in Asionic building. I was so upset when I found out that the card is missing. It's worthed 133RMB (113 credit balance and 20 for the card deposit). I hope someone in Asionics found it and return it to me soon. *I told some ppl there abt it*

In HuaQiao, I met some students from JiangNan University. We, sponsored by Frank and I think Tom too, were going to Shanghai Botanical Garden. Wang Wen, my English student and my Chinese teacher (haha... we teach each other), who is the one who taking charge of everyone is buying us the 1-way metro card. On the way, we met up with the other students from Fudan, Jiaodong, and either SISU or SUFE. All of the are Chinese, except me (Ina) and LeeJaeSung (Kr). Surprisely, the ticket entrance for the garden was free also. I think Frank was funded the whole trip. Another freebies... we got free lunch. JiangNan's stdnt backpacks and bags were filled by cherry tomatoes, oranges, cheese, peanut butter, fruit jam, biscuits, bread, chocolates, candies, chips, etc... it just so many. We were fed up.

After lunch and chat (and playing cards), most of the students take the park car and went to the peony garden. We, the rest, about 11 people were walking because some of us (incld. me) were lucky enough to collect a free plant from the garden. Our tiket were ended with 2, 5, or 8 (mine was 8). After several minutes of walking and detrour, we finally reached the peony garden. Surprisingly Frank was there. He called me several times until I realized that I've been called (lol). he gave me a bottle of pineapple-orange juice. I felt it very refreshing after the walk. After taking some pictures, Frank left and we got a short brief meeting in the garden.

Finally we have to say goodbye to each other. I went back to HuaQiao with the fellow friends I came with earlier. After resting for about 15 minutes in Asionics, we went out for dinner. It was a pleasant dinner. The dishes were very delicious. Ten of us really satisfied. Wang really picked the right menu. Another happy ending was applied here. Again, the dinner is free!

Then the time is up. It was 8:30, and everyone worried whether I still could catch up the bus or not. The answer is yes, coz the bus number 224 and 909 still operates until 23:--. I reached the dorm at 9pm.

Conclusively, life is unredictably beautiful. Even something I don't like happened, there is always something that makes me smile, laugh, and enjoy my life. Filled my life with gratitude is definitely helped me to enhance myself.

Gratitude

Since I've not been doing this for days.. i'll just write it here... (fyi, i usually write it down,,, 5 points each days)

1. Putuoshan Trip
I could mark another place in my travelling map.. :D

2. Rotary meeting
I met so many wonderful people here. I can't wait to share many things with them. And... it kinda remind me of my RC YEP sponsor back in 03/04, in States. With 70 members, the fine dining, the seats arrangements... it's not the same, but...yea... it reminds me.

3. Shanghai Buses
so far i'm good at it. The something wubi .org shanghai buses information is so useful. So, today i get to know nother bus route. Surely I will master the other pretty sure.

4. Interact meeting in HongQiao Foundation
Again, it reminds me of my exchange year in States. There were 3 interactors and a supervisor from the shanghai international american school (i forgot the school name, but yes it is an american school). Also attending the meeting: the SH RC President, Frank (Community Service and Youth Committe?), Rtn. Cathy, another Rotarian, and a HongQiao employee. So, my homework now is get this Interact Club some contact to another Interact Club around the world. Anyone could help me... please do.. i'm more than happy to be helped. :D

5. Beijing KaoYa Dinner
I dunno what the restaurant called, but it's located in Xu Jia Hui. I went there with those who attend the Interact meeting, except for the president, and we have another guests.... Rtn. Nicola and Rtn. Joerg. It was a very pleasnt dining. Frank was very generous. I believe someone there said Frank loves to feed people after I asked how many dishes he ordered... and it is true that he love to fed us! It was.. let me count... 10? 11? 12? well... actually i don't know. it was just so many. i remembered the beijing kaoya, xiaomi, the vegetable dish w/ peanut, salad, pork cutlet, fish dishes, another fish, the vegetable roll, fried roll, dumpling, another dumpling, something w/ chicken or duck and mushroom?, the beef (dunno what it called), zuchini, another vegetable dish, an duck soup... and not to forget to mention the ultimate dish... the fried scorpion. Frank took picture of me with the scorpion. I'll post it later once I got the picture right inside my inbox. =)
